5. Reach Out

In the same way that praising God lifts our spirits, so does seeking to bless others. Serving one another can take our minds off ourselves and even lift us out of a negative mood. We experience the deep satisfaction of giving, and our own lives become sweeter.   


There are myriad ways to reach out to others. Is there someone new at your workplace? Ask them to lunch or simply stop by their desk and ask how they’re settling in. You just might find a new friend. Is that ad for nursery workers listed in your congregation’s bulletin again this week? Maybe you could help out after all. Serving and giving come in all shapes and sizes, and we are blessed when we give.
