A THANKFUL HEART - LIFE MATTERS SERIES S57E07

TOPIC: HABITS OF A THANKFUL HEART

KEY BIBLE VERSE: I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men,

Philippians 2:19‭-‬21‭, ‬27‭, ‬29 ESV

Reflect on Your Spiritual Heroes

So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men. (Philippians 2:27)

Near the top of my list of spiritual heroes is a woman named Prue Crane. By the world’s standards, Prue is an ordinary woman—an unmarried, middle-aged English teacher living in Bologna, Italy. But in God’s eyes, Prue is a spiritual giant whose sincere love for Jesus Christ and passion for serving others inspires and encourages everyone who knows her.

There are times when the Christian life can feel very lonely, especially for those of us who live and work in non-Christian places. Whenever I begin to feel discouraged or isolated, I think of Prue. Her example teaches me how to be a faithful witness and reminds me that I am not alone.

Paul knew the importance of Christian fellowship. These tender verses in Philippians reveal Paul’s gratitude to God for providing him with friends like Timothy and Epaphroditus. Paul’s ministry was not a one-man organization. He surrounded himself with people who worked with, encouraged, and supported him. Timothy, in particular, was a continual source of joy and thanksgiving for Paul. As he writes in 2 Timothy 1:3, “I thank God . . . as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.”

When you feel discouraged, call to mind some of your spiritual heroes and mentors. They are living, breathing examples of God’s faithfulness.

Reflect: Thank God today for your spiritual heroes and for the ways God has used them to minister to you.

WE HOPE YOU WERE BLESSED BY THIS EPISODE, PLS STAY TUNED FOR CONTINUATION TOMORROW BY GOD'S GRACE!

REMEMBER, WE LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MORE, STAY BLESSED, FOCUSED AND BE DETERMINED TO SHOW GRATITUDE ALWAYS

Marriage Series 7: What Does The Bible Say About Divorce and Remarriage?

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT DIVORCE AND REMARRIAGE? First of all, no matter what view one takes on the issue of divorce, it is important to remember Malachi 2:16, “I hate divorce, says the LORD God of Israel.” According to the Bible, marriage is a lifetime commitment. “So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate” (Matthew 19:6). God realizes, though, that, since marriages involve two sinful human beings, divorces are going to occur. In the Old Testament, He laid down some laws in order to protect the rights of divorcées, especially women ( Deuteronomy 24:1–4).  Jesus pointed out that these laws were given because of the hardness of people’s hearts, not because such laws were God’s desire (Matthew 19:8). The controversy over whether divorce and remarriage is allowed according to the Bible revolves primarily around Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:32 and 19:9 . The phrase “ except for marital unfaithfulness” is the only thing in Script...

Life Matters Nuggets

WHO ARE YOU? A lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no avail. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked *'WHO ARE YOU'*  The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court.  As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat...
